A basic FiveM server with a couple of scripts runs on 2–4 GB of RAM. A typical roleplay server with 32–64 players and a moderate set of resources is comfortable on 6–8 GB, and large or heavily scripted communities (100+ players, many resources) should plan for 12–16 GB or more.
Why FiveM uses the RAM it does
FiveM is built on the GTA V engine, which is not light. The server keeps the game world, all loaded resources (scripts, frameworks like ESX/QBCore, maps, vehicles) and player state in memory. Every resource you add — a job system, clothing shops, custom vehicles — increases memory pressure, and player count multiplies it.
